A manager may demote a player from the active roster to the reserve
bench, or promote a player in the reverse direction, at any time and
for any reason.
Illegal Rosters may result in forfeit for week roster is illegal.
- Promotions to take effect with the
subsequent line up deadline one half hour before the first MLB

- No player may be demoted without
being replaced on the active roster by an eligible player--that is, a

position and the promoted player into the shifted player's position)
and who is currently on a major league roster and either is not on a
major league disabled list or else is eligible to come off the
disabled list during the coming week.
- Exception: If the acquisition of an
active player in a trade places the acquiring team's active roster

another player.

WAIVERS
Players are placed on waivers (a) when they cannot be accommodated on
a team's active or reserve roster, because of space and/or positional
limitations; (b) to accommodate a free agent purchase or (c)
accommodate the restructure on roster due to trade.
- The waiver period for a released
player is to up to first sunday, if the player goes unclaimed while on waivers, he
goes into the free agent pool and may be acquired by any team without
restriction.
- Waivers processing runs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You may put a claim of waivers on any
player during any day of week.
- Waiver claims are honored according
to the inverse order of the most recent wavier transitions. Example;
teams A pick up player on wavier this week, he will be move to the
bottom of the wavier list. The team with the longest span of picking
up a player on waivers will have the first opportunity at any player
on the wavier list.
- If a team claims more than one
player on waivers, it will only be given consideration for a second
player after all other teams' waiver claims are considered,
- A team may reclaim a player it has

Waivers player
values
- Any player picked up directly from
waivers retains their most previous player value.
- Any player clearing waivers and
enters to the free agent pool will have their salary reset to current
years value, (Example; Bob Jones starts the season on team Buba's
roster as a returnee at $12. He is dropped and clears waivers. His
current season CBS Sportsline player value is $14. This would be the
amount assigned to the new team picking him up from free agents
players pool

GUARANTEED LONG-TERM CONTRACTS and OPTION YEAR
A player who has been under contract during two consecutive seasons
and whose service has been uninterrupted (that is, he has not been
released and then reacquired as a free agent, although he may have
been traded or claimed on waivers) must, prior to the freezing of
rosters in his third season, be released; signed at the same salary
for his option year; or signed to a guaranteed long-term contract.
If released, the player returns to
the free agent pool and becomes available to the next draft. If signed
at the same salary for an option year, the player must be released
back into the free agent pool at the end of that season.
If signed to a guaranteed long-term
contract, the player's salary in each year covered by the new contract
(which commences with the option year) shall be the sum of his current
salary plus $1 for each additional year beyond the option year. In
addition, a signing bonus, of $1 shall also be paid.
- In determining a player's status,
"season" is understood to be a full season or any fraction thereof.
Thus, a player purchased as a free agent in the middle of the 2004
season and subsequently retained at the same salary without being
released in 2005 (even though he may have been traded.) enters his option year in 2006 and;
- must be released
- or signed
at the same salary for an option year
- or signed to a long-term
contract.
- A team may only be allowed 12 players
in contract at any one time.
- Long term contract lengths are 2, 3,
4 and 5 years.
- A team may sign a player to only one
long-term contract, at the end of which he becomes a free agent. A
recently release player may be redrafted by the same team.
- Option-year and long-term contracts
are entirely transferable, both in rights and obligations; the trade
of a player in no way affects his contract status.
- In all other cases, specifically
including sudden loss of effectiveness--a team must honor the terms of
a long-term contract, as follows: A player with such a contract may be
released back into the free agent pool (that is, not protected on a
team's roster prior to the Draft Day) , but a team that chooses to do
so must pay into the prize pool the following;

ROSTER PROTECTION
Each team may retain, from one season
to the next, no more than 12 of the players of their previous season
roster.
-The names of players being retained
must be recorded with the Commissioner by March 15 of the upcoming
season.
- Specific notice of any guaranteed long-term contract signings
must be made by March 21st.
- If an owner fails to submit his
roster freeze list on time, it will be chosen for them. The previous
season top 12 scoring players will automatically be logged as
returning players.
- Failure to give notice of a
guaranteed long-term contract for a player in his option year will
result in his being continued for one season at his prior year's
salary and then released into the free agent pool.
- The cumulative salaries of frozen
players are deducted from a team's $ expenditure limit in the draft,
and the balance is available for the acquisition of the remainder of a
team's active roster.
- You may designate Minor leaguer
players as keepers under the following conditions;
- The Minor leaguer will count against
your 12 keepers.
- You may keep a minor leaguer
for 2 seasons. If you wish to keep a minor for season 3, you
must sign him to a minimum of a 2 year contract at no less than $5 for
the first season. He also must be added to your major league roster.
-The League Secretary should promptly
notify all teams in the League of each team's protected roster,
including player salaries, contract status, and amount available to
spend on Draft Day.

GOVERNANCE
The Rotisserie League is governed by
a Committee of the Whole consisting of all team owners. The Committee
of the Whole may designate as many League officials as from time to
time it deems appropriate, although only two--the League Secretary and
the League Treasurer--ever do any work. Rule changes are determined by
a vote of 8 members of the Committee of the Whole. The League has up
to 3 official meetings each year: Draft Day, the Midsummer Trade
Meeting (at the All-Star break) , and the Postseason Awards Ceremony
and Rules Meeting.
