The 2004 through 2005 seasons were the
golden years for a very competitive baseball team put together by
George Bettencourt.
Retaining only five players from the 2003
Astros team, the 2004 Astros retooled and brought on new faces
that would propel them into the 38AA playoffs as first seed.
Adding several NABA veterans including a core group from the
former 28+ Championship team Hollywood Stars, the 2004 Astros finished
1st with a record of 14-7. losing the first round playoff game
only made them hungrier.
In 2005 a new name and more new faces put
the finishing touches on a team ready for Championship play.
Adding several players from the 2004 Free Agents team where the
finishing touches needed for a strong roster. A new name and
uniforms gave the team a whole new image and pride while
shacking the Astros stigma of losing ways. The 2005 finished 12-8
and were second seed in the playoffs. We defeated the Valley
Cats in the Playoffs and were the underdogs heading into the 2005
championship match versus the dreaded Sharks. Down 0-1, losing
12-8 in the first game, the Seals fought back and swept the last
two games to win the 38AA championship.
The 2006 team saw some old faces leave
and new faces join. The season started slow as we lost our first 3
out of 5 games as well as our last 4 games. Going 6-4 during a mid
season stretch was not enough to make the playoffs as the Dragons
edge us out by one game.
Great teammates, great times!!! Thanks to
al the Seals
